The songs on Hidden Treasures were recorded in 1985. Johnny never thought he would hear them again until one day he got a call. He met a person who handed him a key to a storage facility - and there they were! When Johnny played them for the first time after all those years every melody and lyric came back to him like it was yesterday. Memory is truly amazing. What is even more amazing is that many of the songs sound like they were recorded yesterday. Five songs were written and produced by Johnny himself. Two he wrote and produced with a friend. The songs on this album include:

Johnny's roots before the Beatles and the 50's was Jazz! His step dad had a great collection of artists from Sarah Vaughn - Johnny's favorite, to Ella Fitzerald, DinahWashington, Sinatra, and the list goes on. Now he is taking that influence with a twist and created "JAZZ STEW." I ask you - whats better than food, passion and a lot of Jazz! The twist is a reggae song Jimmy Cliff made famous entitled "Many Rivers to Cross," with a little Jazz thrown in; "Crazy Love" - a Van Morrison tune; and of course the standards like "Them There Eyes," a Billy Holiday favorite, and many more. "When I was a kid in the north end of Boston there were two major influences in my life, singing in the church just steps from where I lived, and food! It was everywhere and it was amazing! I lived on the fourth floor, and from my window right across the street I could see the Regina Pizzeria. To the left on one corner was a small grocery store and on the other corner still in view was Tony the butcher where we got all our meat packaged fresh right on the spot. I can also visualize, as I write, the times I would watch my mom roll out the fresh dough and make home made pasta which was to die for. These were the inspirations that gave me my passion for singing and cooking, and you can see that passion in this tv pilot. So sit back and enjoy twenty two minutes of great recipes coming right into your living room, and don't forget the wine!"
